Hello Readers,

With Autumn finally here, it is unfortunate that for most of us around the world it’s time to put away our shorts and vest tops away and get out our coats, jumpers and trousers and stride down the high-street like it’s our own personal catwalk.

A big trend that was seen on the Autumn/Winter 2017 catwalk wasn’t a particular item of clothing but a shade of colour. Metallic seemed to be the colour of the season.

Gucci seemed to set the bench mark when advertising their new clothing line and this made headlines with their futuristic set and sci-fi style clothing within the shoot. It was described as looking like a scene from Star Trek ‘the original series’.

Other designers have hit on this metallic trend as well, such as Chanel, Paco Rabanne, JW Anderson, Versace, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton to name just a few.

This style is very versatile, you can wear it however you want. You could go completely glam and wear a metallic dress or keep it simple and wear metallic shoes and accessories. The metallic skirts and jackets that were coming down the runway look really amazing and very futuristic.

This shade pallet looks great in dress form as can be seen on the Golden Globe red carpets. Many celebrities were rocking the metallic shade on the red carpet and they looked very statuesque.

However, this style does come with a few warning labels though. Be careful in the quality of the item you want to buy. Some metallic pieces can very easily look cheap and tacky and nobody wants that. If you do go full body for this look I advise that you keep it tailored and simple. DO NOT go overboard with the hair and accessories to match your head to toe look. You want to keep the focus on the outfit and how futuristic it looks, not on whether you look like a baked potato that’s burst from the tinfoil.

I would love to know on what you think of this trend? How would you rock this look? Would you go all in or just a hint of it in the accessories?
